Yüksel Mansur, chief of Yön Radio Executive Board has announced that the satellite broadcast of the radio had been blocked without notice and that the FM broadcast still continued. Mansur has noted; “Ballads can’t be sealed off”.
According to Yön News, the broadcast was shot by TURKSAT communication satellites yesterday (September 28) night, Kılınç noted and added;
“Yön Radio has been on air for 23 years. Its broadcast is based on the most commonly shared value in Anatolia, the ballads.
“Through the international relationships it has developed, our radio has made the world listen to the ballads of Anatolia and introduced our culture.
“The editorial line of Yön Radio, one of the rare broadcast outlets which is based on an understanding of independent broadcasting, reflects Turkey’s line, and the line of press freedom and freedom of expression”.
Also other TV channels including Hayatın Sesi, Azadi TV, Jiyan TV, Van TV, TV10, Denge TV and Zarok TV were taken out of the satellite yesterday evening. (ÇT/DG)
