Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım visitng Special Operation Bureau Presidency in Ankara’s Gölbaşı has made statements there.
PM Yıldırım pointing at the Gölbaşı Police Special Operation building, which suffered great damage spoke as follows:
“There can’t be a clearer evidence demonstrating how this organization [Gülen Movement] has gone mad, how much they have become inhumane. I am calling out on behalf of Turkish nation to those dodging the column by ‘asking for evidence’: is there a greater evidence than this? Give up standing by these killing machines, villains who drove the tanks onto its own citizens, fired on its own citizens from air and land, dropped bombs on people”.
Prime Minister Yıldırım responded to the questions as follows as to how and when journalists learned about the coup attempt:
“We learned of the coup about after 15 minutes. Who did we learn it from? We learned of it from our close guards and citizen. We learned of it from kith and kin.
“So, we didn’t receive any information about the extent of the threat, about what was going on. Since this has become public, I say this much. However, these things don’t matter now. What matters is that we do whatever is required for these troubles that we parried to not become a threat again”.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had earlier stated that he learned of the coup attempt from his brother-in-law. (NV/TK)
