The television program producer of Türkiyem TV and columnist of Yeniçağ Newspaper, Yavuz Selim Demirağ, who was attacked in front of his house on May 10, wrote up an article entitled "I am not Afraid" on his column on May 14, 2019. His article includes following statements in brief:
"(...) I will continue taking a stand against the darkness invading the houses of the party leaders, punching them in the face; threatening all the oppositional voices with jail, beating, and death.
"Is it my writings that made me the target of this wrong? I will write more! Is it my words? I will speak up more!
"Is it because I told that you graft? Because I told that the FETÖ members are still looked after? Because I told that Turkish nationalists will not be an operation's pawn and the apparatus? I still stand behind what all I said..."

Akşener: Don't protect those who shout 'Kill him'
Meral Akşener, the Chair of İYİ Party, at the weekly group meeting of her party on May 14 reacted to the release of the perpetrators of the attack:
"The release of the attackers like traffic louts shows the unlawfulness. They have previously made a hero from a cow thief.
"We will not let the journalists in Turkey be captured. Do not protect those shouting 'Kill him,' while attacking.
"The 'foster daughter' of [President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan was attacked with a knife as she supported [Ekrem] İmamoğlu. Turkey has turned into a country that Mr. Erdoğan cannot govern. How will Mr. Erdoğan, who could not protect his own foster daughter, save the people?" (EKN/TY/SD)
