Yazar, senarist, şair Vedat Türkali, bir süredir tedavi gördüğü Yalova Devlet Hastanesi’nde bu sabah saat 06:00 sularında hayatını kaybetti.
1919 doğumlu yazar Türkali, 97 yaşındaydı.
Türkali’nin ölüm haberini kızı Deniz Türkali, Twitter’dan böyle duyurdu:
Writer, script writer, poet Vedat Türkali lost his life this morning (August 29) at aroun 6 a.m. at Yalova State Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Born in 1919, writer Türkali was 97 years old.
About Vedat Türkali
Vedat Türkali whose real name is Abdülkadir (Demirkan) Pirhasan was born in Samsun on May 13, 1919.
He completed his high school education in Samsun. He graduated from the İstanbul University, Turkish Language and Literature at Faculty of Literature in 1942.
He married Merih Pirhasan in the same year.
Türkali serving as literature teacher at Maltepe and Kuleli Military High School received imprisonment of nine years on charge of “political act” in 1951 and that was released on probation at the end of his seventh year. He was a member of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP).
He found Gar Publications with Rıfat Ilgaz in 1960.
He started script writing with the movie Dolandırıcılar Şahı in 1960. He won Best Screenplay at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival with his movie “Karanlıkta Uyananlar”.
He became an MP candidate from the Democratic People’s Party (DEHAP) in 2002 and actively participated in politics.
