Ayşegül Tözeren, a writer, physician and a peace activist who was detained on Tuesday (August 20), has been referred to the Penal Court of Peace on Duty with the request of release on the condition of judicial control following his questioning at the prosecutor's office.
Tözeren was arrested in a police raid in his home on Tuesday night and was brought to the prosecutor's office at the İstanbul courthouse in Çağlayan to testify today.
The prosecutor did not take statements from nine people and sent them to the court over the statements they made at the security directorate. The prosecutor demanded the arrest of two people and release of seven people on the condition of judicial control.
Tözeren has been imposed an international travel ban after being released. (TP/VK)
