Women's organizations stand by Evrim Kepenek and Sibel Yükler

Women's organizations reacted to the detention of bianet Women and LGBTİ+ editor, Journalists Union of Turkey (TGS) workplace representative Evrim Kepenek and T24 editor Sibel Yükler. 

Women's Platform for Equality (EŞİK) said in a tweet, "Yesterday was a day for the struggle for freedom of press. Today journalists Evrim Kepenek and Sibel Yükler, both making the voices of the women and LGBTI+ heard were taken into custody!...Free press cannot be silenced! #GazetecilikSuçDeğildir (Journalism is not a crime)

Kırkyama: Evrim Kepenek who is our voice in the struggle for rights of the LGBTI+ is a journalist. Release her, and Sibel, and all those detained because of their journalism work!
