Thousands of women stood together against male violence, patriarchy and homophobia at the 19th Feminist Nigh March on March 8 Women's Day.
The women who organized the march have released a statement after the march.
"Despite everything, we were at the 19th Feminist Night March on the streets of Taksim on March 8 with our feminist rebellion, with all colors of the rainbow, against those who try to divide us as acceptable and unacceptable.
"Together, we gave an answer to those who put police, which cannot be found when it comes to preventing violence against a woman, in front of us to close every street.
"We were so crowded that we could not count, we were tens of thousands, we could not catch one another on the streets. But we neither left the nights nor the streets. We arrived in Kadıköy. Now, we have another crowd that we will remember so that we won't give away to despair until next year.
"We know that as we empower one another, patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, male violence will go away, we will stay!" (EMK/VK)
