Fadık Adıyaman is on the 78th day of the hunger strike which she went on for being kept alone in Tekirdağ Type T Closed Prison, and her demand to be sent to Bakırköy Closed Women Prison hasn’t been met.
Adıyaman with cardiac, blood pressure and thyroid is being kept in one-person cell in Tekirdağ.
There is definitive jail term on Adıyaman (50), the mother of two, who was tried over being member of Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
Fadik Adıyaman detained with the Sabancı assassination suspect, İsmail Akkol at Söke bus terminal on February 2, and arrested by İstanbul 18th Heavy Penal Court on February 4.
“Guardians carry her to bed”
People’s Law Bureau in its statement as to Adıyaman has expressed that she’s lost 15 kilos since she started the hunger strike, and dropped to 69 kilos from 84.
“She told in our last meeting that her blood pressure sometimes hits 20 as she is a patient with blood pressure, she loses her consciousness several times within a day in the cell where she is kept alone, and taken to bed by the guardians”.
The statement added that there is no legal obstacle before meeting Adıyaman’s demand.
Taken to Tekirdağ from Bakırköy
Fadık Adıyaman was taken to Bakırköy Women Prison before she was arrested on February 4. She was taken to Tekirdağ Type T Prison after being kept there for one day.
The statement noted that the convicts sentenced to similar punishments are kept in the Bakırköy.
Two women in the same cell
Adıyaman is being kept alone in Tekirdağ Type T Prison in a way that she is not allowed to contact in any way with other arrestees and convicts.
The prison administration said in their meeting with Adıyaman’s attorneys that the transfer took place due to “life safety”, and that the Ministry has definitve instruction on that.
As a result of the applications, Elif Akgül imprisoned in the Bakırköy prison was transferred to Tekirdap Type T Closed Prison, near Fadik Adıyaman on April 11.
