During police raid in Sancaktepe of İstanbul a 20-year-old woman named Dilan Kortak was killed.
Despite claims of noises of an armed fight, inhabitants affirm they have not heard gun fire.
According to the statement he made to bianet, an inhabitant living in the same neighbourhood and two blocks away from the scene, no gun fire was heard in the incident which occurred yesterday evening. Police didn’t allow anyone near the incident scene and closed the street during the operation.
The raid was conducted to an address on the second floor of a building in Dumanlar Street of Atatürk District based on the claim, it was a “cell house”.
According to the report of Evrensel daily, a women named Dilan Kortak has lost her life due to the fire opened by the police. Three others have been arrested.
Doğan Haber Ajansı (Doğan News Agency) (DHA) reported that members of PKK Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were claimed to be at the address where the operation was carried out. According to DHA, also fire was opened from the house against the police.
Kortak’s funeral has been moved to the morgue of Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Hospital. (AS/DG)
