Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair and Prime Minister, Binali Yıldırım has announced members of the 65th Government.
Other than former PM Ahmet Davutoğlu, Vice PM Yalçın Akdoğan, Minister of Economy Mustafa Elitaş, Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, Minister of Environment Urbanisation Fatma Güldemet Sarı, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahir Ünal, Minister of Family and Social Policies Sema Ramazanoğlu, Minister of EU Volkan Bozkır, Minister of Development Cevdet Yılmaz didn’t take place in the new cabinet.
There were two women MPs in the 64th Government, there is one woman and 26 men MPs in the new cabinet.

Vice Prime Minister: Mehmet Şimşek
The Batman MP Şimşek is born in Batman in 1967. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science. He completed his MA at Exeter University in England on finance.
He served as veteran economist at the US Embassy in Ankara, as researcher in the analysis section of stock analysis of the UBS, and as expert at Deutsche-Bender Securities and Merrill Lynch.
He was AKP Antep MP in 2007 and AKP Batman MP in 2011. He was minister in charge of finance in 2007, and in charge of economy in 2009 and 2011. He was vice Prime Minister in 2015. He is married and father of two.
Vice Prime Minister: Tuğrul Türkeş
The Ankara MP Türkeş is born in İstanbul in 1954. He graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economy. He is the son of founder of the Nationalist Movement Party, Alparslan Türkeş.
He was MHP Ankara MP in the 23rd, 24th, and 25th terms. When he accepted the offer of former PM Ahmet Davutoğlu's to take place in the interim government on August 26, 2015, he was discharged of the MHP. He was Vice Prime Minister in the 65th government headed by Davutoğlu. He can speak English. He is married and has three children.
Vice Prime Minister: Numan Kurtulmuş
He was born in 1959 in province of Ordu on the Black Sea coast. He is Ordu MP. He graduated from Religious Vocational High School and İstanbul University Faculty of Business Management. He had his master's degree in Temple University School of Business & Management in the US. He had his associate professorship and professorship in İstanbul University, Faculty of Economics. He was a guest faculty member in Cornell University.
He has done politics in the Virtue Party and the Felicity Party. In 2010 he has established the People's Voice Party (HAS). In 2012, he has demolished his party and transferred to AKP. Vice Prime Minister: Nurettin Canikli
He was born in 1960 in Alucra district of Giresun province on the Black Sea coast. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Science Department of Economics. He has done his master's degree in Sheffield University in England on money finance banking. He had worked in the positions of Head of Treasury Auditors, Head of Directorate for Incomes and İstanbul Vice Provincial Treasury.
He has written columns on economics in Yeni Şafak daily. He has worked in the certified accountant firm of which he was also a partner. He was Giresun MP in the 22th and 23th terms. In the 22th term he was the President of Grand National Assembly (TBMM) State Economic Enterprises Commission and Europe Mediterranean Parliamentary Council. He is married and has four children.
Vice Prime Minister: Veysi Kaynak
Kaynak is born in Maraş in 1962. He is a graduate of İstanbul University, Faculty of Law. He entered politics after working as free-lance attorney. He served as Maraş Mayor. He became Maraş MP in 23rd term.
He also served as municipality assembly member and vice mayor and deputy mayor, council and budget commission president. He was president of Friendship Group between Turkey-Bahrain Parliaments. He is married and father of five.
Minister of Justice: Bekir Bozdağ
The Yozgat MP Bozdağ was born in Yozgat in 1965. He completed Uludağ University, Faculty of Theology. He did MA at Uludağ University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of History of Religions. He graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Law. He worked as freelance attorney. He was elected as Yozgat MP in 22nd and 23rd terms. He served as Vice PM in 61st Government. He speaks English and Arabic. He is married and has three childen.
Minister of Family and Social Policies: Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya
AKP İstnabul MP Kaya is electric-electronic engineer. After she studied at Fatih Primary School, she studied at Beyoğlu High School and Bilkent University, Department of Electric-Electronic Engineering. Kaya doing her PhD at New York University, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering made researches on thermal images of breast cancer.
She started to study at Cerrahpaşa University, Faculty of Medicine in 2009. She served as AKP Chair Advisor till 2012.
She formed teams in 39 provinces by forming Social Media Organization of AKP İstanbul Provincial Organization.
Kaya has one child. She speaks English and German.
Minister of EU: Ömer Çelik
The AKP Adana MP Çelik was born in Adana on June 15, 1968. Çelik is a political scientist and expert in foreign affairs.
He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Economy and Administrative Sciences, Public Administration Department. He did his Masters at the Gazi University, Social Sciences Institute, Department of Political Science.
He was elected as Adana MP in the 22nd and 23rd terms. He was on assignment at NATO Parliamentary Assembly Turkish Group Membership in 22nd and 23rd terms. He is single and speaks English.
Minister of Science, Industry and Technology: Faruk Özlü
Özlü was born in Düzce in 1962. He completed his primary, secondary and high school in Düzce. He graduated from İstanbul Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ), Faculty of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering in 1986. He completed his undergrad in 1989, and his PhD in 1994. He worked at various levels at the Undersecretariat.
In addition to his duty at Defense Industry Undersecretariat, he worked as board member and deputy chair at Türk Uçak Sanayi A.Ş. (Turkish Plane Industry) between 2002-2008, and TUSAŞ Aeronautic and Space Industry. He served as board member and board president of İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport's administrative company HEAŞ. He was deputizing Murad Bayar at the Defense Industry Undersecretariat as of March 28, 2014. He speaks English. He is married and has two children.
Minister of Labor and Social Security: Süleyman Soylu
The Trabzon MP Soylu was born in İstanbul in 1969. He graduated from ... He entered politics at Right Way Party's (DYP) Youth Branches in 1987. He was elected to board of DYP's Gaziosmanpaşa district organization and became district president. He became DYP İstanbul Provincial president in 1999. He became Democrat Party Chair in 2007. He joined the AKP in 2012. He was elected Trabzon MP in June 7 elections. He was in the same seat in the 64th Government. He is married and father of two.
Minister of Environment and Urban Planning: Mehmet Özhaseki
He was born in 1967 in Kayseri. He is Kayseri MP. He graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Law. He has worked in the textile branch and served as Kayseri Mayor five years in a row. He is honorary president of Kayserispor and Kayseri Erciyesspor. He is a member of the consultancy board of Okan University. He was the president Association of Historical Towns between the years of 2004-2011. He has also served as the Chairperson in charge of AKP Local Administrations. He is married and has four children.
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu
The Antalya MP Çavuşoğlu was born in 1968 in Alanya. He did PhD. He completed the Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations. He was elected Antalya MP in 22nd and 23rd terms. In the 23rd term, he served as AKPM Turkish Delegation President, Immigration, Refugees, and Population Commission President, Inspection Commission Member, Bosnia-Herzegovina Co-Rapporteur, European Democratic Group Vice President and Spokesperson. Minister of Economy: Nihat Zeybekçi
The AKP Denizli MP Zeybekçi was born in Denizli on January 1, 1961. He graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He did his Masters at İstanbul University, Department of International Relations.
He served as high-ranking administrator in the private sector. He founded Turkuaz Tekstil (Turkuaz Textile) in 1994. He worked at Denizli Platform Spokesperson, and Denizli Chamber of Industry Member. He run the presidency of Denizli Tekstil and Garment Exporters Union.
He served as Denizli Mayor between 2004-2011 and European Council Local Administrations Congress Turkey Delegation President, and as Turkey Municipalities Union Deputy President between 2009-2012.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources: Berat Albayrak
He is born in 1978 in İstanbul. He is İstanbul MP. He graduated from İstanbul University Business Management in English language. He did his MBA degree in New York Pace University. He has worked in various positions in private sector. He has written columns in Sabah daily, and worked as a lecturer in Marmara University on banking and finance. He was İstanbul MP in the 25th term. He served as a member of Central Executive Board (MKYK) in AKP. He speaks English. He is married.
Minister of Youth and Sports: Akif Çağatay Kılıç
He was born in 1976 in Seigen in Germany. He is Samsun MP. He is political scientist. He graduated from İstanbul German High School in İstanbul and in Hertfordshire University Political Science and European Studies in England. He has come to the position of Minister of Youth and Sports for the fifth time. He speaks English and German. He is married and has two children.
Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock: Faruk Çelik
He was born in 1956 in Artvin. He is Urfa MP. He graduated from Bursa High Islamic Institute. He studied at Kocaeli Institute of Business Administration. He served as provincial Director of Welfare Party and Vice Chairperson in Virtue Party. He was a member of AKP Founders Board. He was Bursa MP in 21th, 22th, and 23th Terms and Şanlıurfa MP in 24th and 25th Terms. He was Minister of Labour and Social Security. He worked in Commission of Interior and Petition. He is married and has four children.
Ministry of Customs and Trade: Bülent Tüfenkçi
Tüfenkçi was born in Malatya in 1966, he completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Malatya. After he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law in 1984, he completed his Masters on commercial law.
Tüfenkçi settling in Malatya in 1991 and start working as freelance attorney has taken office at different ranks in the organization after taking place in the foundation of the AKP in 2001. He served as AKP Malatya Provincial President between 2011-2015. He was the Minister of Customs and Trade in the 64th Government.
Tüfenkçi is married and father of two.
Minister of Interior: Efkan Ala
He was born in 1955 in Erzurum. He is Erzurum MP. In 1987 he graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences. He has worked in positions in Education Branch Office in Ministry of Interior, Province Administration Directorate, Education General Directorate and Consultancy. On February 13, 2003 he became Batman MP and in 2004 Diyarbakır Governor. On September 10, 2007 he was assigned for the position of Prime Presidency Undersecretary. He came to the position Minister of Interior which was earlier filled by Muammer Güler who had resigned within the December 17-25 corruption operations. In the 61th and 62th Governments, he served as Minister of Interior from outside of the Parliament. He is married and has two children.
Minister of Culture and Tourism: Nabi Avcı
The AKP Eskişehir MP Avcı was born in Bilecik in 1953. He graduated from Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) Faculty of Administrative Sciences. He did PhD at Anadolu University, Department of Communication Sciences. He is a professor in communication. He lectured on communication philosophy and communication sociology at Anadolu University and İstanbul Bilgi University. He served as Eskişehir MP in 24th and 25th terms and as Minister of National Education in 62nd, 63rd, 64th governments. He speaks English and German. He is married and father of five.
Minister of Finance: Naci Ağbal
The AKP Bayburt MP Ağbal was born in Bayburt in 1968. He graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Political Science. He served as auditor, Incomes General Directorate President, Budget and Financial Control Director General. He became YÖK (Council of Higher Education) member. He became AKP Vice Chair in Charge of Economy in 2015. He was on the same post in the 64th Government. He speaks English. He is married and father of two.
Minister of National Education: İsmet Yılmaz
The AKP Sivas MP Yılmaz was born in Sivas in 1961. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University, Faculty of Maritime Studies, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and İstanbul University, Faculty of Law. He did MA at Sweden World Maritime University, and Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences, and that he did PhD in the area of maritime law at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences. He worked as engineer, financial consultant for 20 years. He was appointed as Maritime Consultant in 2002. He carried out the duty of Türk Telekom Deputy Board President. He was appointed as Ministry of Culture and Tourism Consultant. He was appointed to Ministry of Transportation in 2007. He was Minister of National Defense in 61st and 62nd Governments. He speaks English. He is married and father of three.
Minister of National Defense: Fikri Işık
He was born in 1965 in Babacan village in Gümüşhane. He is Kocaeli MP. He graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Education Mathematics Teaching. He has worked as English and Mathematics teacher and as manager in food sector in İzmit and İstanbul.
He is among the founders of AKP Kocaeli. He has worked as AKP Kocaeli Provincial President. He was Kocaeli MP in the 23th and 24th terms. He has taken responsibility for 47 provinces in different parts of Turkey as AKP Headquarters Regional Coordinator and Vice Organizational president. He is member of the Middle East Technical University Alumni Club, Hereke Education Culture and Mutual Aid Foundation, Kızılay, Yeşilay, Ay Işığı Beneficial Foundation for Orphans and Kocaeli Gümüşhane Foundation. Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs: Veysel Eroğlu
He was born in 1948 in Şuhut district of Afyon. He is Afyon MP. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University, Faculty of Civil Engineering and İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature Department of History. He has conducted researches in the Netherland. He became associate professor in 1984 and professor in 1991.
He was member of İstanbul Technical University Faculty of Civil Engineering Executive Board, Head of Environmental Technologies Department, İSKİ General Directorate, İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ, BİMTAŞ, HAMİDİYE, İSFALT AŞ, İstanbul Tree and Landscape AŞ Executive Board and in the executive boards of İGDAŞ, BEDAŞ, AYEDAŞ, TEMSAN. He has worked as Chairperson of the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ). He is a founder of the Water Foundation and member of the Board of Trustees. He is the Governor of World Water Council. He has published over 350 articles, papers, vocational technical reports and books 45 of which are in foreign languages.
He has been elected Afyon MP in the 23th Term. He was the Minister Environment and Forestry in the 60th Government and Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs in the 61th Government. He can speak English. He is married and has four children.
Minister of Health: Recep Akdağ
The AKP Erzurum MP Akdağ was born in Erzurum in 1960. He graduated from Atatürk University, Faculty of Medicine. He is expert in child health and diseases. He carried out the duties of Chief Physician at Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine Research Hospital, Purchasing Commission Presidency and Medicine Journal Editor Assistantship. He served as Vice Director at Biotechnology Practice and Research Center. He lectured as academic member at Atatürk University, Faculty of Law, Child Health and Diseases Department. He became professor in 1999. He was granted "Article of the Year" by İstanbul Chamber of Medicine in 1996. He was elected Erzurum MP in 22nd and 23rd terms. He was the Minister of Health in 58th, 59th, 60th, and 61st Governments. He speaks English. He is married and father of six.
Minister of Transportation, Maritime and Communication: Ahmet Arslan
The AKP Kars MP Arslan was born in Kars in 1962. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University, Faculty of Shipbuilding and Maritime Studies, National Security Academy. He is shipbuilding and mechanical engineer. He worked for seven years in private sector. He held various offices in Pendik Shipyard.
He carried out duties of Maritime Consultancy Bureau President, Vice Director General and Minister of Transportation, Railways Harbors and Airfields (DLH) Construction Director General. He worked at State Airports Administration, TT-NET and Turkish Loyd Foundation Board, TÜRKSAT Board of Control. He served as member of TOBB Maritime Assembly. He speaks English. He is married and father of one.
Minister of Development: Lütfi Elvan
He was born in 1962 in Karaman. He is Mersin MP. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University, Faculty of Mines. He did his master's degree in Leeds University on mine and operational research in England and on economics in Delaware University in the US.
He has worked as an engineer in Etibank and as a director in different ranks in State Planning Organization. He has served as director and member in Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Rural Development Group, European Union (EU) Center of Education and Youth and EU Negotiations Observance and Guidance Committee. He was elected Karaman MP in the 23th Term. In the same term, he has served as Co-Chairperson of Turkey-EU Combined Parliamentary Commission and the President of Planning and Budgetary Commission and Turkey-Hungary Friendship Group.
He was Turkey Representative in South-East Europe Cooperation Process. In 2013, he became Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication. On July 7, 2015 he was elected Antalya MP. He was Vice Prime Minister in the 64th Government. He can speak English. He is married and has two children.
