What Were Turkish Soldiers Doing in Iraq?

ODP vice chair Turkmen said: Turkish public remains uninformed of on the issue of what Turkish soldiers are doing in Suleymaniye. Turkmen stressed on the importance of political amnesty for solving the Kurdish problem.

Freedom and Solidarity Party(ODP) vice chair Ozlem Turkmen, in her written statement stated that the illegitimate competition of Turkish and American armies are increasing the tension in the region contrary to the will of the people of Iraq.

Turkmen in her statement underlined the point that the Turkish people, who has no information on the content of the secret decrees are fully ignorant of what Turkish soldiers in Suleymaniye are doing.

She expresses that the relations with the peoples of the region should be based on non-military solutions.

Concluding her statement Türkmen said: "Through a political amnesty for the democratic solution of the Kurdish problem, the wounds should be healed and mobilization should be started for the development of the region.(BB/PT/EK)
