Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Ankara MP Murat Emir has stated that the date and amount of vaccine delivery shared by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and the statement of BioNTech company do not overlap, saying that there is a difference of 50 thousand doses.
Addressing a Parliamentary question to Koca, Emir has indicated:
"Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, in his statement on March 24, said that 700 thousand vaccine doses had arrived; the day before, he had said that 750 thousand vaccine doses had been delivered.
"In an interview with Habertürk Columnist Fatih Altaylı three days later, on March 27, Minister Koca shared a document addressed by BioNTech to him and State Supply Office Director Mücahit Özdemir.
"In the document, it was indicated that 700 thousand doses of the vaccine, the first batch, were delivered on March 24 and 700 thousand doses of the vaccine, the second batch, were delivered on March 25. It is seen that the dates of delivery on the document that the BioNTech firm was made to write and the dates of delivery announced by the Minister are contradictory.
"In addition to the dates of delivery, there are also contradictions in the amounts declared. While the Health Minister said that 750 thousand doses of the vaccine arrived as part of the first batch, BioNTech stated that the first batch was delivered as 700 thousand doses.
"There is a gap of 50 thousand between the two statements and it needs to be announced for whom these 50 doses of the vaccine have been used. What happened to 50 thousand vaccine doses?" (RT/SD)
