The Ministry of Health has shared the "Blue Table", covering the weekly numbers of COVID-19 cases in Turkey from July 10 to 16, 2021.
When compared with the previous table covering the period of July 3-9, it is seen that the numbers of COVID-19 cases and patients increased in Turkey in a week while that of fatalities decreased.
According to the recent table, in the week of July 10-16, 1 million 608 thousand 670 COVID-19 tests were performed. The number of cases was 43 thousand 609 and that of patients was 3 thousand 748. While 295 people died of COVID-19 in a week, 36 thousand 377 recovered.
As of July 16, Turkey's COVID-19 death toll was 50 thousand 450.
When the data of the previous week (July 3-9) is concerned, it is seen that 1 million 562 thousand 70 tests were conducted, 34 thousand 933 cases and 3 thousand 308 patients were diagnosed. While 326 people died in a week last week, 33 thousand 29 recovered.
İstanbul ranks the first
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has also tweeted information about the number of weekly cases per 100 thousand people by provinces.
According to the Health Ministry's table covering the period of July 10-16, the number of weekly cases per 100 thousand people was 75.12 in İstanbul, 57.95 in the capital city of Ankara and 24.46 in İzmir.
Koca has said, "Our provinces which saw the highest increase in the number of cases in the last week were Siirt, Giresun, Bingöl, Diyarbakır and Kırıkkale. We have to observe the measures until mass immunization is ensured by vaccination. Don't put your loved ones at risk."
The lowest number of cases was seen in Kilis (8.32).
Bed occupancy rate dropped
The data of the two weeks are compared as follows:
* The incidence of pneumonia among patients: 4.75 percent in the week of July 3-9; 4.7 percent in the week of July 10-16
* Bed occupancy rate: 50.4 percent in the week of July 3-9; 48.9 percent in the week of July 10-16
* Adult intensive care unit occupancy rate: 63 percent in the week of July 3-9; 62.1 percent in the week of July 10-16
* Ventilator occupancy rate: 27.7 percent in the week of July 3-9; 26.3 percent in the week of July 10-16
* Average number of seriously ill patients: 543 in the week of July 3-9; 552 in the week of July 10-16 (AS/SD)
