Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the map showing the number of daily coronavirus (COVID-19) cases per 100 thousand people by provinces in the week of January 15-21 today (January 31).
According to the data, the incidence of the disease saw the highest weekly increase in the following 10 provinces: Erzurum, Bursa, Çankırı, Yalova, Erzincan, Uşak, Batman, Elazığ, Siirt and Bayburt.
When compared to the previous week, the number of weekly cases per 100 thousand people decreased from 1,571.46 to 1,245.73 in İstanbul while it increased from 629.65 to 725.62 in the capital city of Ankara and from 714.29 to 729.81 in the Aegean province of İzmir.
According to this most recent map, İstanbul ranks first in terms of the weekly number of COVID-19 cases in Turkey per 100 thousand people. The provinces where this number is the lowest are Van (with 29.67 cases), Urfa (48.65 cases) and Adıyaman (58.98 cases).
Data on 10 provinces
The following 10 provinces saw the highest weekly increase in their number of cases per 100 thousand. The current numbers are as follows:
- Yalova: 815.43
- Bursa: 667.96
- Erzurum: 596.09
- Çankırı: 457.31
- Siirt: 419.85
- Uşak: 403.05
- Elazığ: 364.65
- Erzincan: 339.55
- Batman: 306.64
- Bayburt: 249.05
There were nine provinces where the number of cases per 100 thousand people topped 700. The current numbers are as follows:
- İstanbul: 1,245.73
- Kocaeli: 930.58
- Kırklareli: 889.32
- Yalova: 815.43
- Tekirdağ: 814.01
- İzmir: 729.81
- Ankara: 725.62
- Eskişehir: 725
- Bingöl: 700.93
The last 24 hours in Turkey
The Ministry of Health announced the latest figures about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Turkey yesterday (January 30).
While the daily number of new cases has been announced as 88,145, 189 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Turkey in the last 24 hours. While 81,530 people have recovered in a day, the number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours has been announced as 428,214.
According to the vaccination data shared by Turkey's Health Ministry, while 57,407,159 people have been vaccinated with the first dose in Turkey so far, 52,375,810 have received the second dose and 24,906,534 people have been given the third dose. Taken together, the total number of vaccine doses administered so far is 141,778,517 in Turkey.
While 92.49 percent of Turkey's population over the age of 18 has been vaccinated with the first dose, this rate is 84.38 percent for the second dose. (TP/SD)
