We Lose Our Co-Worker Barış Mumyakmaz

We’ve lost bianet English news editor, Barış Mumyakmaz.

Mumyakmaz lost his life today at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

His body will be put to eternal rest following afternoon prayer at Karşıyaka Graveyard in Ankara.

We offer condolences to Barış Mumyakmaz’s family and his loved ones.

About Barış Mumyakmaz

Barış Mumyakmaz did his bachelor as Galatasaray University, Department of Philosophy and did his masters at University of Massachusetts, Department of Journalism. He also taught yoga in Boston.

He worked as editorial director at Detay magazine, which is student magazine of Galatasaray University.

Mumyakmaz joining bianet team with From School to Newsroom in 2009, was working as translator in English and English section editor.

Mumyakmaz in his student years had prepared an article series named “Armenians in Turkey Tell”.

He penned “Chemotherapy Diaries” at bianet while was battling cancer. (ÇT/TK)
