Turkey is going to the polls for presidential elections and parliamentary elections for the 28th term of the parliament today. The voting will take place between 08:00 am and 17:00 pm. throughout the country.
Pre-election restrictions to last for 24 hours started at 18:00 yesterday (May 13).
No news reports are to be broadcast involving election propaganda until the ballot boxes are closed at 18:00 pm today.
It will be possible to broadcast the announcements and comminuques of the Supreme Election Council (YSK) between 18:00 and 21:00 today. Broadcasting restrictions will end at 21:00. YSK will be able to bring this hour forward.
Sale of alcohol banned
The sale of alcoholic drinks will be forbidden today from 06:00 until 24:00. Public gathering places such as the cafes, coffee houses, internet cafes will be closed on the election day.
The restaurants will only be able to serve meals. It will be possible to have wedding ceremonies only after 18:00 pm. Nobody other than the public security forces will be able to carry guns. (RT/PE)
