Eda Erdem Dündar, the captain of both Fenerbahçe Opet and Turkey's national volleyball teams, has been named the "Best Middle Blocker" at the 2021 Women's European Volleyball Championship.
While her team Fenerbahçe has congratulated her on Twitter, underlining that she has been picked to the 'Dream Team' of the 2021 Women's European Volleyball Championship as the "Best Middle Blocker", Eda Erdem herself has also announced the news on her Twitter account.
"2015, 2017, 2019, 2021... So much pride, so much happiness," she has tweeted, thanking her teammates for their help "as they have the biggest role" considering that "her playing character is predominantly offensive and her performance increases as she performs more attacks."

Being named the "Best Middle Blocker" in 2015, 2017, 2019 and now in 2021, captain Eda Erdem has become the first volleyball player in history who has been named as such for the fourth time in a row.
In February 2021, Eda Erdem was named one of the 100 greatest players by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
After she was named the "Best Middle Blocker" this year, several social media users have congratulated Erdem on the title.
About Eda ErdemVolleyball player. She is 190 cm (6 ft 3 in) tall and plays as a middle blocker. Erdem has a block height of 302 cm (119 in) and spike height of 308 cm (121 in). She currently plays for Fenerbahçe SK and is the captain of both this club and Turkey's national volleyball team. Eda Erdem has been playing for Fenerbahçe with jersey number 14 since 2008. Before she joined Fenerbahçe, she had played for Beşiktaş for 4 years (2004–2008). She played 185 times for Turkey's national team. In Doha, Qatar, she won the 2010 FIVB World Club Championship, playing with Fenerbahçe and earned the Best Server award. Eda Erdem also won the Best Server award and the silver medal with her national team at the 2011 European League. She played with Fenerbahçe in the 2012 FIVB Club World Championship held in Doha and helped her team to win the bronze medal after defeating Puerto Rico's Lancheras de Cataño 3-0.
