Vice PM Numan Kurtulmuş has made a statement following Council of Ministers meeting. He responded to journalists’ question on subjects such as Operation Euphrates Shield, Constitutional Commission.
In response to question by Cumhuriyet daily’s reporter Sinan Tartanoğlu about the allegation that “ISIS burnt two soldiers from Turkey”, Kurtulmuş said “Some fellows in media shall mind their steps”.
Reminding that an official statement hasn’t been issued about this subject yet, and opposition leaders demand a clarification of the issue, Tartanoğlu asked whether Kurtulmuş will have any evaluation on this.
Kurtulmuş said the footage hasn’t been confirmed yet but they are fabricated.
“Social media is not a field in which irresponsible publishing can be carried out”
Kurtulmuş responded to the question:
“There is no confirmed information as to this video footage, we will share it with public if there is. But thank you, such terror organizations are world’s most inferior mechanisms. They are trying to scare people by releasing videos. They want everybody to be scared of each other. Furthermore, some fellows in media shall mind their steps. Especially social media is not a field in which irresponsible publishing can be carried out. Turkey is literally in war with DEAŞ (ISIS-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).
“Fortunately, there is a solidarity in national media, they assess the reports by taking national interest into account”. (HK/TK)
