US Secretary of State Department John Kirby has noted that they have welcomed the temporary truce agreement reducing violence in Syria.
“The agreement to stop the clashes has helped reducing the violence especially in the south of Damascus and the surroundings, but still we receive news of violence and take it very seriously”.
Noting that the parties themselves will watch over the breach of the agreement, Kirby has pointed out that they would notify International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in case of a breach.
Kirby has added, that the last decision on the Plan B which has come to agenda earlier without making any explanations regarding its content and would be applied in case the clashes would not stop, has not been taken yet.
“The collaborations within our associations continue regarding possible options and alternatives for the case that the quest for a political solution does not work out”:
“No federal structure on the agenda”
Upon the question of Russian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Ryabkov regarding “a possible switch to a federal model in Syria”, Kirby has responded as “Plan B does not stand for establishing a federal structure in Syria”.
“Besides, you can have a look at the declarations earlier. Also Russia has accepted all of those and they all accept Syria as a whole without distinction of religious sects”.
