Spokesperson for the US State Department Heather Nauert has answered the questions of journalists about whether an agreement has been reached between Turkey and the US.
In its statement the other day, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın said that “an agreement has been reached about Manbij”. Upon a journalist asking about this statement, US State Department Spokesperson Nauert said, “Well, that’s funny, because no agreement has been reached”. Nauert didn’t make any further explanation about the subject.
Pentagon: We will not withdraw from Manbij
In a press conference he held earlier in the week, Pentagon Spokesperson Colonel Robert Manning stated that the US is concerned about the Afrin operation and the US forces will not withdraw from Manbij. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had also earlier in the week indicated that the operation may expand further. (PT/TK)
