The Governorship of Hakkari has declared five areas between the city enter and the districts of Yüksekova, Şemdinli and Çukurca "special security zones" for five days.
Accordingly, entrances to rural areas around Kazan and Şortı will be prohibited until the night of December 22.
The governorship said in a statement that it issued the order because "citizens were deprived of carrying out their economic and social activities due to terrorist attacks."
"Our citizens, whose daily lives are negatively affected, experience great suffering. Our governorship office takes all kinds of measures within the framework of the relevant legislation in order to ensure the security of life and property of our citizens, to maintain the current environment of peace and security, and to protect our state and nation from all kinds of terrorist threats and attacks."

There are 4 towns, 122 villages and 368 hamlets in Hakkari Merkez (Center), Yüksekova, Şemdinli and Çukurca.
Population of city center is 239, 455 and of rural area is 97,126, amounting to 336,581.
