President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President of the European Commission Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels in Brussels where he visited to attend the NATO summit.
Stata-run Anadolu Agency reported that issues such as the current situation of the ties between the Turkey and the European Union as well as prospective steps to be taken had been discussed in the meeting which lasted almost an hour.
According to Deutsche Welle, Tusk on his Twitter account has stated that "the necessity of cooperation" had been discussed in the meeting referring to Tusk's Tweet in which he said:
"We discussed the need to cooperate. I put the question of human rights to center of our discussions with Erdoğan".
No joint statement has been made following the meeting. (YY/DG)
