The Ministry of Health reported 48,882 new coronavirus cases and 209 deaths in the week between August 22 and 28.
Some 447,132 people recovered from the disease in a week, according to the data.
A week before, 80,020 new cases were found and 231 people died of Covid-19
The country's official death toll reached 100,840, with a total of nearly 16.8 million cases.
At the start of June, the ministry switched to publishing Covid updates on a weekly rather than a daily basis.
