Last month, seven child workers, and four migrant workers died in work-related accidents or diseases in Türkiye.
The most dangerous place to work was the construction sector, with 38 construction workers losing their lives. The agriculture sector was the second with 30 casualties.
Most deaths occurred due to work-related traffic accidents, with 27 percent, 21 percent died because of falling from heights, and 17 percent were crushed.
In the last 334 days, around 5 people died daily on the job in Türkiye adding up to 1658 deaths during the previous 11 months.
1440 workers and civil servants were killed on the job, while 218 were self-employed.
1564 men and 94 women were killed on the job in the last 11 months while 94,64 percent of work-related fatalities were not a member of a trade union.
Most deaths, 791 people, were between 28 and 50 years old, and 61 people younger than 18 died. (HA/WM)
