A bidding opened by Turkey’s Police Department have been completed on the purchase of 65 new TOMAs - a police tank from the acronym “vehicle to intervene societal events”. It was announced that Katmerciler Corporation, the lowest bidder, won with a proposal of 13,675,500 euros.
According to Milliyet newspaper, after PM Ahmet Davutoğlu’s statement “If a TOMA is damaged, we purchase 10 new TOMAs”, the company’s stocks rose by 50 percent.
Katmerciler Corporation released the following statement:
“5 corporations proposed bids by Turkey’s Police Department for the purchase of 65 TOMA-3 model vehicles. The lowest bid was submitted by our company with 13,675,500 euros and a contract has been signed.” (AS/BM)
