With the legislative proposal foreseeing improvements in the employee personal rights of physicians and dentists withdrawn at the General Assembly of the Parliament, the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) has announced that a one-day strike will be staged on December 15.
Accordingly, the TTB has stated that no healthcare services, except for emergency services, will be offered for a day. Announcing the decision on its social media account, the TTB has said that a press statement will also be held about the issue at the TTB Central Office today (December 13).
What happened?
At the General Assembly of the Parliament yesterday (December 12), the legislative proposal foreseeing improvements in the employee personal rights of physicians and dentists was withdrawn.
Withdrawn to the commission, the related articles of the proposal were discussed again and the articles were dropped from the proposal.
Omitted from the proposal upon the request of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the removed articles were referred to the Parliamentary Health Commission for evaluation and extension of their scope. (TP/SD)
