The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) has sent a letter to the Health Ministry's Directorate General of Public Health regarding the migrants' access to health rights without being discriminated against.
In its written correspondence with the Directorate dated August 5, the TTB has underlined that the data shared by the Health Ministry in its COVID-19 tables on a daily basis does not cover the Syrians who have the temporary protection status or the unregistered migrants.
Stressing that the lives of migrants have become more difficult after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the TTB has emphasized that the biggest trouble is encountered in healthcare.
Indicating that the vaccination of migrants is important in the fight against the outbreak, the TTB has noted that the vaccination appointment system does not offer services in Arabic, Persian or several other languages spoken in Turkey. It has also demanded that Syrian refugees and unregistered migrants be vaccinated and the vaccination rates be shared with the public. (RT/SD)
