High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will come together with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affair Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of EU Ömer Çelik in Brussels.
DW Türkiye reported that, ahead of the meeting Hahn said that Turkey has to make a decision about the EU.
“Good intention wishes are not enough”
Expressing that Turkey needs to take a principal decision, Hahn said that the good intention wishes are not enough and added:
“Turkey needs to take action for the EU-Turkey relation to develop”.
“A Turkey slipping away from European values”
Hahn stated that Turkey’s approach towards opponents and journalists continues to be worrisome and the country is slipping away from European values. (AA/EKN/TK)
