Turkish Doctors Union (TTB) released a statement that compiled the health issues due to the police violence against Gezi Park protestors.
Compiled from various doctors union chamber reports across the country that covered until June 6 at 6 pm local time, the statement cited injuries in 13 different cities across Turkey.
It also added that 4,785 people have so far been admitted to public and private hospitals as well as infirmaries due to health problems related to police violence against Gezi Park protests.
“The majority of injuries were due to pepper gas-related burnt and respiratory complications; injuries related to canister hits, plastic bullets and muscle-skeleton system traumas (soft tissues injuries, cuts, burns, broken bones); head traumas; eyesight problems extending to vision loses due to use of plastic bullets; and internal organ injuries.
According to the statement, 1 police officer died while 48 protestors are still in critical condition. The situation of 2 patients in Ankara and 1 in Eskişehir are still in ICU.
18 people suffered from serious head traumas, while 10 people lost eyesight. 1 patient lost spleen. The statement released the distribution of casualties according to cities as follows:

İstanbul: 1840 injured. 1215 treated in hospitals, 625 in infirmaries. 12 gravely wounded. 1 dead. 5 treated in ICU, 2 still in critical condition. 5 lost eyesight.
Ankara: 1155 injured. 788 treated in hospitals, 367 voluntary infirmaries. 19 gravely wounded. 6 head traumas. 2 in critical condition.
İzmir: 800 injured with 2 in critical condition.
Antakya: 161 injured with 3 in critical condition. 1 dead.
Adana: 137 injured with 6 in serious condition. 1 dead. 5 head traumas. 1 infant suffers broken haunches.
Eskişehir: 300 injured with 3 in serious condition. 2 still ICU. 1 head trauma.
Muğla: 50 injured with 1 serious condition. 1 patient risks losing eyesight.
Mersin: 17 injured with 1 in serious condition. 1 head trauma.
Bursa: 1 head trauma, 2 injured.
Balıkesir: 155 injured.
Kocaeli: 10 injured.
Antalya: 150 injured including 1 in serious condition. 1 lost eyesight.
