In-person education will start at all grades in February when the semester break ends, the minister of national education has said.
Mahmut Özer's statement came after calls on social media to switch to distance education due to the massive surge in coronavirus cases due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
The country's daily case count jumped to above 100,000 from 30,000s a month ago.
However, the minister said, the country continued education remotely for one and a half years and they are determined in face-to-face education from now on.
"We have shown in the past five months with all our parents, teachers and students that educational institutions are the most protected places," he said. (RT/VK)
