President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has spoken at Expanded Provincial Chairs Meeting.
Stating that a scandal erupted during a NATO exercise in Norway, Erdoğan said:
“Images of Atatürk and me have been placed on enemy board”
“Recent an incident has occurred in Norway. They placed images of me and Atatürk on enemy board. When we received this news, our Chief of General Staff and Minister of European Union were on their way to Canada.
“They called us on their way and explained the situation to us. This is a NATO exercise. We have 40 soldiers there. ‘We’ve decided to withdraw our troops’, they said. We’ve ordered them to withdraw the soldiers even if that targets are removed”.
Dollar/TL regressed to 3.85 yesterday
Right after Erdoğan’s statement, Dollar/TL which regressed to 3.85 TL yesterday has exceeded 3.90 and the stock exchange has gone into a decline.
“We need to clear Afrin”
“Idlib operation has been carried out as planned. Considerable progress had been made in Turkey’s military operation in Idlib due to the co-operation of Russia and Iran. We will meet in Sochi on November 22. Afrin is very important for us. We need to cleanse Afrin of the structure there called the YPG (People’s Protection Units) terrorist organization.
“We are greatly disappointed by the United States not keeping its promises. Many issues that we could have resolved easily...were pushed to a dead-end,” he said. (PT/TK)
