Turkey continues further testing of China's coronavirus vaccine as the vaccination of volunteers has begun at İnönönü Üniversity in the eastern Malatya province.
About 20,000 volunteers had applied for the vaccine, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca siad Friday (November 20).
He said the vaccine had been initially tested on health workers since September 15 but citizen volunteers were needed for the tests to continue.
Prof. Ali Beytur, the chief physician of the İnönü University's Turgut Özal Medical Center, told the state-run Anadolu Agency that the tests on volunteers began after all healthcare personnel in the city were vaccinated.
The vaccine is applied on people who are older than 18 and have not had the disease and there have been no side effects observed so far, he added. (AÖ/VK)
