25th Term Deputies of Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) took their oaths. The procedure continued for 10 hours. General Assembly of the Parliament will assemble to choose Turkish Parliamentary Speaker on June 30.
First oath
25th Term 1st Legislative Year opened in TBMM General Assembly and taking oaths of deputies continued for 10 hours. Being the eldest member of the parliament, former Republican People’s Party (CHP) Leader Deniz Baykal moderated the General Assembly and Baykal was the first to take oath. Second member was a disabled deputy of Bursa province, Bennur Karaburun from Justice and Development Party (AKP).
The President Erdoğan wasn’t applauded
The President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who watchedthe ceremony from the presidentiallodge wasn’t applauded and reverenced by deputies from CHP, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) contrary to AKP deputies.
Erdoğan left after a while.
Choosing of Speaker will be made on June 30
After the oath-taking ceremony, Council’s proposal was announced. According to the approved proposal, TBMM will continue to work without recessing on July 1.
General Assembly will choose Speaker on June 30. Names of candidates should be submitted to TBMM temporary Bureau of the Assembly until June 27.
First mission is to choose members of RTÜK
First mission of TBMM will be choosing members of Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK).
