After the United Arab Emirates' deal to normalize ties with Israel, Turkey may downgrade its relations with the UAE, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said today (August 14).
"We may take steps to suspend diplomatic ties with the UAE or withdraw our ambassador," he told reporters in İstanbul after Friday prayers, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
Erdoğan said Israel's "latest steps towards Palestine were unacceptable."
Presidential Spokesperson: History will not forget them
Also making remarks on the issue, Presidential Spokesperson said on Twitter that "Posterity will judge those who abandon the Palestinian struggle for justice, but Turkey's support is steadfast."
"History will not forget those who betray the Palestinian people and sell out the Palestinian cause," he wrote. "Their miserable policies will not deter but give only strength to those who believe in justice, freedom and nobility."
"Turkey will continue to stand by the Palestinian people," he added.
