Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) notified an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was crashed.
The U.S.A and Russia made statements after the incident.
Stating the air vehicle from an unknown country which entered the airspace from Syria to Turkey was warned three times, TSK explained that vehicle was opened fire and crashed by patrolling aircrafts.
According to CNN Türk, the unmanned aerial vehicle fell to a village in Kilis province in southeastern Turkey near Syrian border at noon. Military helicopters and the military personnel were sent to the point.
Vice Prime Minister: Rules of engagement are issued
Vice Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said, “Rules of engagement are issued if the aircraft doesn’t abandon Turkey’s airspace."
Kurtulmuş continued:
“We had an information that an air vehicle from an unknown country was crashed according to the rules of engagement. TSK will make the necessary statements within next hours.”
Russia: All our aircrafts are in air bases
Russia explained:
“All Russian aircrafts operating in Syria returned safely and all of our unmanned aerial vehicles function as it was planned.”
the U.S.A: It can belong to Russia
An American official talked to Reuters that the aforementioned aircraft may have belonged to Russia in spite of their total opposite statement. (EKN/BD)
