LGBTI+ and rainbow-themed products will be sold online with an "18+" sign, according to a new decision by the Ministry of Trade.
The ministry said that it had received many complaints from consumers that the sale of such products without a warning sign would "negatively affect children's development."
Retailers who don't comply with the order would be penalized, according to a write sent by the ministry to companies.

The decision was given unanimously by the ministry's Advertisement Board, BBC Turkish reported, citing sources from the ministry. The board has 19 members with nine of them being from NGOs and professional organizations.
Sources also told BBC Turkish that the decision was intended to protect children and a ban on LGBTI+ products was not in question. (EMK/VK)
