The Ministry of National Education has changed the coronavirus guidelines for schools following the ease of measures in the country, including the lift of outdoor mask mandate.
The ministry has prepared two separate guidelines; one about general Covid measures and the other about what to do when Covid cases are found in schools.
As the effect of the pandemic has decreased and vaccination has become widespread, the measures would be individual rather than general restrictions, the ministry emphasized.
The ministry will provide enough masks for students, teachers and school personnel to use. Masks will be mandatory indoors but will not be in schoolyards.
Classrooms will be properly ventilated.
With data integration, the Education Ministry and the Health Ministry will monitor the risk status and sickness of students and staff and will notify schools.
When positive cases are found, only the people who have contracted the virus will take a leave. Other students and teachers will be monitored for symptoms.
Previously, entire classrooms would switch to remote education when two students from the same classroom tested positive within 10 days. (RT/VK)
