The Health Ministry has reportted 31,923 more coronavirus infections, including 6,690 "patients," or symptomatic cases, for the past 24 hours.
The country's death toll rose by 193 to reach 13,936, according to the ministry, while the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality reported 199 deaths of an"infectious disease" for the city alone.
The ministry reported record high numbers of cases and deaths for nine days in a row now.
Amid growing suspicion of the accuracy of the official figures, the municipality has been publishing the number of deaths caused by an infectious disease since November 22.

The number of daily cases in Turkey has been among the world's top five since the Ministry of Health started including asymptomatic cases in its daily count on November 25.

The new symptomatic cases raised the overall patient count to 513,656 while 4,821 patients recovered over the past day, bringing the tally to 409,320, according to the ministry.
More than 183,000 Covid-19 tests were conducted across the country in the said period, pushing the total to over 18.9 million.
The number of patients in critical condition now stands at 5,502, increasing by 200 from the previous day.
