Last month was recorded as the fifth warmest April in Turkey between the years 1971-2022.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) based on the data of the Directorate General of Meteorology (MGM), the lowest temperature in April was -15.9 degrees in the Kars-Sarıkamış district in the northeast region of Turkey while the highest temperature was recorded in southern Turkey in Adana-Kozan district with 35.9 degrees.
According to the measurements, the April temperature average in Turkey was up by 2 degrees this year.
The warmest temperature in April was recorded in 1989 in Turkey, followed by the years 2016, 2018, 2008, and 2022 respectively.

The temperature was above seasonal normal in three regions
Throughout April 2022, in the Marmara, Aegean, and Black sea regions, temperatures were measured around seasonal normal while it was above seasonal normal in the remaining regions of Turkey.
The increase in temperature is around 2-3 degrees in these regions.
Measurements in 2021
According to the data from the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service, 2021 is Rated one of the hottest years ever as CO2 levels hit a record high.
-2021 was the fifth-hottest year on record and close to 1.2 degrees C warmer than the pre industrial average.
-The annual average temperature was 0.3°C above the temperature of the 1991-2020 reference period, and 1.1-1.2°C above the pre-industrial level of 1850-1900.
-The last seven years have been the warmest years on record by a clear margin.
-Temperatures over the last 30 years (1991-2020) were close to 0.9°C above the pre-industrial level.
