As part of an investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office against the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), five people, including Turkish Medical Association (TTB) High Honorary Board member Dr. Şeyhmus Gökalp, were arrested on charge of "being members of the organization" yesterday (November 23).
The following five people, apart from Gökalp, have been arrested on this charge: Yılmaz Kan, Haknas Sadak, Diyaiddin Noyan, İrfan Kanğal.
'Defending values of medical profession not a crime'
In a statement released by the TTB about the issue, it is said, "TTB High Honorary Board member Dr. Şeyhmus Gökalp has been arrested. It is not a crime to defend the values of good medical profession."

45 people referred to courthouse
Taken into custody as part of the operation against the DTK on Friday (November 20), 45 of the 72 detained were referred to the courthouse in the afternoon yesterday (November 23).
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency, of the 45 people referred to the prosecutor's office on charge of "being members of the organization", Haknas Sadak, Leyla Ayaz, Panayır Çelik, Şimal Beğik, Talat Yeşilkaya, Yılmaz Kan, Yusuf Andan, İlhami Yürek, Diyaiddin Noyan, Feyzi Demirkıran, İrfan Kanğal, Mehmet Eşref Mamedoğlu and Şeyhmus Gökalp were referred to the Diyarbakır 2nd Penal Judgeship of Peace to be arrested.
While 13 people were referred to the judgeship to be arrested on charge of "being members of the organization", Yılmaz Kan, Haknas Sadak, Diyaiddin Noyan, İrfan Kanğal and TTB Honorary Board member Dr. Şeyhmus Gökalp have been arrested on the offense charged. 40 people have been released with judicial control measures.
