Hakkari’s Yüksekova district sub-Governor Mahmut Kaşıkçı has been appointed as trustee to the district.
Yüksekova Co-Mayors Ruken Yetişkin and Tacettin Safalı were suspended from their post on October 15, 2015 for attending a press meeting in which self-governance was declared.
Municipality Assembly had replaced the co-mayors with Adile Kozay and Hüsnü Beşer as deputy co-mayors. Başar on April 15, 2016 and Kozay on December 9, 2016 were arrested.
Trustees have been appointed to 45 DBP-governed municipalities
As of December 19, 12:30 p.m. the number of trustees appointed to DBP-governed municipalities has risen to 45.
There are 64 DBP co-mayors under arrest.
About Mahmut Kaşıkçı
Born in 1971 in Çorum, Kaşıkçı graduated from İstanbul University Department of Economy. He served as sub-governor candidate in Çorum Governorship and worked as sub-governor in Vezirköprü district in Samsun province. He is married, with one child. (ÇT/TK)
