The Ministry of Interior has appointed Bitlis Governor Ahmet Çınar as trustee to Bitlis Municipality.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Mayors Hüseyin Olan and Nevin Daşdemir were detained on November 24 in Bitlis, and arrested on November 25 on charge of “Being a member of a terror organization, aiding and abating a terror organization”.
Along with Olan and Daşdemir, Güroymak Mayor Mehmet Emin Özkan, Deputy Mayor Senaye Ata and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Deputy Chair Nazime Avras were detained as well.
The Governorship in its statement said Olan was arrested by Criminal Judgeship of Peace on charge of “being a member of an armed terror organization”, according to a report by state-run Anadolu Agency.
