Turgay Gülenç, sub-Governor of Bismil district of the Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır has been appointed to the district's municipality as a trustee.
Police had searched the apartment of Cemile Eminoğlu, co-Mayor of Bismil Municipality governed by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), the municipality building and the Eminoğlu's office on Saturday (February 4).
According to the news agency Dihaber, there is a detention order for Eminoğlu issued in the investigation launched by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
With Bismil Municipality, the number of DBP-governed municipalities to which trustees were appointed has risen to 69 and 78 co-Mayors of DBP remain behind bars. (AS/DG)
