Trans woman Ajda Ender has held a statement for the press regarding the hate speeches and transphobic attacks targeting her.

As reported by Mezopotamya Agency, the statement for the press held at the İstanbul Branch of the Human Rights Association (İHD) today (January 27) was also attended by the maternal aunt of Ajda Ender as well as her attorney and İHD Co-Chair Eren Keskin.
Addressing the reporters, Keskin underlined that even though there was no legal obstacle for her to enter her house, she could still not enter her house due to the violence she was subjected to.
"Regardless of their political views, the vast majority of people in our country are homophobic and transphobic. We need to face this", said Keskin.
'They want to drive me to suicide'
Sharing what she went through with the audience, Ajda Ender reiterated that she was battered by her neighbors, subjected to their violence as well as their rumours and slanders that men were frequenting her house.
Ajda Ender stated the following in brief: "They attacked my door just because I am a trans woman. There are marks of knives on my door. They constantly beat me up in the apartment. They want to drive me to suicide.
"With their backs against the wall as they are pressed on social media and as people protect me, security officers are now calling me every night to summon me for deposition. They can take me home and take my deposition there. They can do it as far as I have learnt. But they do not do it. The bureau of violence against women has not called me again after that."
Indicating that she has been filing criminal complaints against the man named N.D. for threatening to throw nitric acid on her face, the has not been summoned to depose, according to Ender.
Ender has also underlined that she cannot go home due to violence and threats, adding that she requested protection from the legal authorities, but her request has been rejected. (EMK/SD)
