The Traffic Control Branch of the İstanbul Security Directorate has examined the places that saw the highest number of traffic accidents with casualties in the city last year and found the 10 "black spots".
According to the findings of the Branch, 14 thousand 913 traffic accidents took place within the jurisdiction of the police in İstanbul in 2020; while 91 people died in those accidents, 19 thousand 338 were wounded.
Updating the traffic accident hotspots in the city in an attempt to reduce the incidence of accidents and take measures in those hotspots, the teams have found 10 hotspots based on their examination of the road accidents that happened from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
On the top of the list of hotspots was the entry and exit points of the Golden Horn Bridge, where 33 accidents happened last year.
