Ahu Öztürk’s first full-length film “Toz Bezi (Dust Cloth)” has been selected for the 66th Berlinale Film Festival Forum Section to take place between February 11-21.
The film, going to make its international premiere in Berlin, tells the story of two homeworker women’s life struggle in İstanbul.
Nazan Kesal and Asiye Dinçsoy share the leading roles of the film written and directed by Ahu Öztürk who has participated in many festivals before with her previous short film “Açık Yara (Open Wound)”. Other actors starring in the film are Mehmet Özgür, Serra Yılmaz, Didem İnselel and Gökçe Yanardağ
Produced with support of Ministry for Culture Cinema General Directorate, the entire film has been shot in İstanbul with support of Maltepe Municipality.
Two home worker women, relationships they have with the ones living in the houses where they go cleaning, everyday conflicts, their friendship and sisterhood, the hierarchy in this friendship, the struggle to hold on to life, being a woman, a mother, cleaning and poverty...

Who is Ahu Öztürk?
Ahu Özürk had her education in philosophy and cinema. In 2004 she created her first documentary “Sandık (Chest)”. In 2010 she has attended the Tales from Kars consisting of five films, with her film “Açık Yara (Open Wound)”.
“Açık Yara (Open Wound)” has played on many international film festivals in 2010 like Rotterdam, İstanbul, Jerusalem, Sarajevo and Beirut. “Toz Bezi (Dust Cloth) is her first full-length project. (ÇT/DG)
