Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, and Central Anatolia have all been affected by heavy rains in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey.
Meteorology warns that the danger continues today (June 28) and announced that thunderstorms are expected in the Western Black Sea region (Bartın, Zonguldak, Karabük, Kastamonu, Düzce, Sinop), Samsun, and Ordu:
"People should be careful and cautious against floods, landslides, lightning, and disruptions in transportation."
As a result of yesterday's torrential rains:
The highway between Kastamonu and Şenpazar was closed to traffic due to the damaged bridge. Those trapped in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu as a result of the flooding of the Ezine Stream due to the heavy rain were rescued. After the heavy downpour in the district, the entrance floors of homes were flooded as a result of the Ezine Stream overflowing. Those trapped in their homes were rescued by firefighters.

As a result of the overflowing river in the Alaplı district of Zonguldak, some offices and houses were flooded. The downpour affected life in the district. Part of the Alaplı River, whose flow rate increased due to the downpour, overflowed. Some houses and businesses in the Central District, Çayboyu, were also flooded. Locals tried to clean their homes as best they could.

Due to the heavy rain in the Kocaeli district of Sakarya, streams overflowed, roads were submerged, and the ground floors of some homes were flooded. After the flow rate of the Hızar Stream, which passes through the Hızar and Yayla neighborhoods, increased, floods occurred. Municipal teams, which started water evacuation work, cleared rocks, mud, branches, and other debris with construction machines.
Due to the heavy rain in the Kaynaşlı district of Düzce, a digger operator was swept away in the flood. Search and rescue work continues for the digger operator.

Due to the heavy rain that has been effective for three days in Bartın, the river passing through the city center overflowed, flooding the ground floors of houses and workplaces. After the downpour, the Bartın River overflowed at the Yalı location. All workplaces were evacuated on the main road, which flooded as a result of the rising water levels.

Heavy rain continued at intervals for two days in Bolu and increased in the evening hours. A shopping center on the D-100 highway also flooded. Torrential rain caused the rivers to overflow in the city center, flooding some homes and workplaces. (TY/TB)
