Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu gave a speech at the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's Groundbreaking and Opening Ceremony yesterday (October 28).
"I know, citizens have great troubles," Kılıçdaroğlu said: "Winter is coming. How will citizens pay their bills? The ones at the top are not aware of this. They think that everything is like how they live. There is a 180-degree discrepancy between the palace's way of life and that of citizens."
Reiterating that "there are great troubles," Kılıçdaroğlu briefly continued as follows: "Even today, there are over 1.5 million households with their electricity cut. I said, 'Create a Harsh Winter Fund'. What I want is that every citizen, regardless of whom they vote for, live in peace. We are showing them the way. They cannot govern the country anymore. The burden on citizens' shoulders is getting heavier and heavier with each passing day."

'Politics has gotten rough'
Speaking ahead of Republic Day today (October 29), a national holiday that marks the establishment of the Republic in 1923, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "We celebrate the 98th anniversary of the Republic. I wish you a happy Republic Day. We will celebrate it tomorrow and we will prepare for the second century of the Republic. We want the equality of women and men and an increased participation of women in social and economic life to be the case in the second century. We don't want our young people to be unemployed. We want Turkey to have prestige."
Referring to a letter of former US President Donald Trump to President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, CHP's Kılıçdaroğlu said, "In the second century, the president of no country should be able to say, 'Don't be a fool' to the president of this country. We shouldn't accept this. We want to govern nicely, properly and conscientiously. We want to answer to citizens at every stage of governance."
He briefly added, "The politics has gotten rough recently. There are threats against me. I really don't care. No matter what they do, even if the best of them comes, they cannot make me turn away from the course that I believe in. I am a person who has taken an oath to serve this country." (RT/SD)
