The small National Assemblies of Turkey (TkMM) calls the three presidential candidates to answer civil society representatives’ questions on television.
TkMM presents their suggestion on a signature campaign they started on change.org as follows:
"TkMM (small National Assemblies of Turkey) is taking on the preparation of a civil society team for such a debate picking one representative each from the 22 provinces in which it operates. And that, in an environment where candidates do not argue with one another, respond to questions within equal time slots, are forbidden from insulting, teasing, berating or interrupting each other, strictly comply with the given time slots with a timer on screen subjecting this also to public scrutiny, in short in an environment where the just and equal methods practiced in TkMM meetings apply. (For detailed information, see: www.tkmm.net)"
As in TkMM meetings, question time will be 15 seconds, and each candidate will be given 2 minutes to answer a question.
Candidates Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu and Selahattin Demirtaş had previously voiced this suggestion in their TV interviews. (NV/PU)
