Making a detailed description of rape in his children's book "Gül ve Düşün" (Smile and Think), writer Musa Dinç has been arrested.
After his book sparked an outrage on social media and the press, the Didim Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Dinç.
As part of this investigation, Dinç was detained from his home at evening hours on August 28. After the related procedures were completed at the police station, Dinç was referred to the courthouse. The court has ruled that he shall be arrested on charge of "publishing obscene literature pertaining to the body of children, animals or dead bodies of humans."
In a previous statement, Musa Dinç said, "They are raising hell over a fairy tale. You should first concern yourselves with thieves and perverts. If the morality of the society is damaged due to a fairy tale, I apologize to society."
The Arı Sanat (Pure Art) Publishing House also released a statement about the book earlier, announcing that the book had been taken off the shelves and a legal action was taken about the related publication.
On the social media account of the publisher, there are also messages calling on the authorities to abolish the İstanbul Convention.
